This is a weird cross and reminds me of the one at St. Patrick's Cross (County Tipperary) with its strong relief figures. The west face (facing the church) has a St. Brigid's Cross at the centre of the head, animal interlacing below that and Adam and Eve on the base. The east face has two figures, one above the other. The top one is a crucifixion and below that is a bishopy figure with crozier and mitre. This is thought to represent Tola the local saint and eigth century founder of the monastery here.

The head of the Christ figure is not original.

Also on the base is a scene depicting Daniel in the lion's den.
