I drive past here so often that I cannot believe I have never stopped to take a look. Well today I did and what a place!
The building is quite huge ans in a wonderful state of ruin. Idyllically sited next to the river it would be a great place for a summer picnic.

Drive into Baltinglass from the north along the N81 and you will see the abbey on your left hand side across the river. The best approach is to drive into the large open square in the center, park and walk from there.
